Séamus, Caoimhe agus Ryan

Sunday gone was my first time seeing siblings Séamus and Caoimhe Uí Fhlatharta perform, they are doing this tour along with composer Ryan Molloy. I had never been to a show in the Courthouse Arts Centre, Tinahealy either so that was also really nice.

My wife Máire has been interested in Sean-nós singing for many years and my own interest and appreciation for the oldest form of Irish singing and the culture surrounding it has grown steadily. Hearing Séamus and Caoimhe play and sing their interpretations of these songs was a sheer pleasure. I saw Íarla Ó Lionáird last year with accompanying piano. This was another beautiful concert with piano inter weaved with Sean-nós to truly wonderful effect by Ryan.

Emotions were felt, heart was nourished.
